C.H. Spurgeon called him the “Prince of Preachers to the Young.” Dr. Richard Newton was a devoted 19th century pastor. He was born in Liverpool, England in 1813. Educated at the University of Pennsylvania, he served as an Episcopal Rector for several years before returning to teach in Europe. At one point in Dr. Newton’s career, he was a professor at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh Scotland.
